Here's a challenge for you....
This week BIN Your BUT !.
That's right do your best not to use the word "but". The slogan "Bin Your Butts" is is found on many bins around the beaches of Bondi and beyond... and works as a great reminder to all of us that as well as throwing away the Butts of cigarettes...(by the way attention smokers who want to stop - there's a free Hypnosis Stop Smoking CD with your stop smoking session!) the word "but" is perhaps the butt of communication. Think about this 3 or 4 letter word... It's a very interesting really, as this one little word can simply cancel out everything that comes before it... "I think your a really great partner, I enjoy spending time with you, your seriously passionate about what you do... BUT..."
Ahhhh here it comes, we say to ourselves... what they really want to say.
So Instead of using the word "BUT" replace your but with an "AND". And notice how it will change the whole meaning of your sentence and Also give you a much better response from those who you communicate with.
There is a lot of power in your words, so use them wisely. NLPers take note to also Remember the effectiveness of using the Agreement frame...
"I respect and..."
"I appreciate and..."
"I agree and..."
and BIN THAT BUT !! use "AND" instead, because it's all about What you say and HOW you say it - Remember for better results - Say it the way you want it and continue to focus on what you want.
