Programs to Live By

It's Monday morning, "Wake UP darling, it's time to get up, What's your program for the day?" this is a question my mum used to always ask me, every morning, as I was attempting to wipe the sleep out of my eyes. "I don't know" I'd snap back at her "I'm not even awake yet, leave me alone". "How the heck would I know what my program is for the day.." I would mumble and grumble underneath my breath, avoiding her eyes, so angry at being woken up 10 mins earlier than I needed to be up. I just wanted to continue sleeping, oblivious to what was going on in the day, I was warm in bed, it was comfortable, still half asleep I would stumble around...my day would start with cursing and grumpling underneath my breath, sneaking from room to room to quietly to avoid any further confrontation, questions or arguments before school, "it was all her fault" I would complain to my friends and the anger continue for hours... WHAT a WASTE !!!
In NLP we would refer such a scenario as being at EFFECT - blaming others for our own mood and attitude, yet we forget that we always have a choice, our choice as to how we react, a choice in either allowing someone else to influence the way in which you feel or not! As much as I complained, I would never admit that the late night talking to my friends had anything to do with my mood that morning...
"YOUR CHOICE is POWER"
Now being much older, and finally getting that infact I'm at Cause, responsible for my attitude and my mood, my mornings start quiet differently now, I'm up earlier and choose to spend the first 2 hours looking after my health and my happiness with a walk down to the beach, or a meditatation, enjoy a good breakfast and start my day "Looking after Number 1" (my mum wise advise would also echo in my mind for years to come). "and that number 1 is you". The facts are that either consciously or unconsciously my program had already begun ! Exactly how it does now every morning...
Is it Time to Start a new program??!! The first 4 minutes of your day, can make a powerful impact the rest of your day, Create your own resoure Anchor and fire it off when you wake up. Make a conscious effort from this day forwards, to Let go of the old habits and any morning moans and groans and see what a difference it can make, Experiment with this idea and Change your whole energy for the entire day.
